painting steering column...glossy or semi???
68 coupe with black interior, just rebuilt the steering column, and painted upper end hub, tele ring, horn button etc, semi-gloss black....now that i have finished by adding the trim pieces, i'm wondering if it should all be glossy black??? the upper steering column plastic cover in particular is very shiny black plastic, and makes for a stark contrast to my semi-gloss column pieces...or should the black column cover be painted semi-gloss? thanks for any info you might be able to give me....Rick

Hi Raz,
I don't think the original intention was to have any gloss finish on the steering column....so I'd think semi-flat black would be appropriate.
Regards,
Alan

ok........WHEW!!!! i thought semi-flat was correct, but the trim piece thru me for a loop, and this will be an easier fix to pull the upper steering column cover and paint it semi-flat than to re-paint the column....thanks a bunch guys! Rick
