How Do You Polish Cloudy Plastic Lenses to Make Them Clear Again?

The heat from a drier will melt the ends of the fibers and harden them. You can dry them with no heat, but it's best from an advice standpoint to avoid the drier. The towel may still feel soft to your hands, but they will scratch paint and soft surfaces after repeated heat drying.

i cleaned all my taillight covers with chrome polish and some kleenex. they look about as good as new.
this was an old light i tried it on before trying it on the vette.
dont pay attention to the dirt on the cleaned section, thats crap on the inside that i couldnt get to.

I bought the lens. All the lens come in one sheet. Best $15 I ever spent. I did the same for speedo and tach, although they are a lot more expensive. I couldn't believe the difference. Replacing the 30 year old plastic is a good move.

I ended up using PlastX from Meguiar's...simply magic! The tach/speedo and guage cluster lenses look brand-new. I couldn't be happier, and considering I was eyeing up the replacements I saved myself a boat load of cash. Thanks to all,
Steve
