dont stop driving it to school, high school will end and youll wish that you had done it more often, just park by security cameras, no biggie, i did it when I was a senior but I only had 6 hrs a day so I got to leave early, I wish I hadent though and got some comments, I did overhear however, "did you see the vette in the parking lot?"

Know how many teens would die to have your problem???
The others are right, it's part of owning an old vette. Just learn to enjoy the appreciation....especially the girls. Switch to an electric antenna or loosen it so you can pull it off at school or other parking lots and buy lots of windex.
If you had played it right, you probably could have had the girls washing it for you while you watched.

Whenever I take mine to the store etc. I always park way out in the lot to avoid door dings. It never fails when I come out of the store there are at least 2 or three people looking at it. I've yet to get the finger prints because it's a vert and I usually leave the top down but I always have to answer a million questions. The one I hate the most is "Is it a Stingray?"
As far as the ricer, there are some really cool cars/knowledgeable kids out there but just remember in 30 years they will only just be Honda's in a bone yard somewhere. I doubt that you'll see them on Barrett-Jackson any time soon.
Live the dream and drive it. I wish I had a Vette when I was in HS. That was my dream back then and it took me 25 years after HS graduation to realize the dream.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmm
Hmmmmmm, let me make sure I got this right.
1. You are a Junior in HS, (the girls love your vette)
2. You own a vette that you can drive to school, (the girls love
your vette),
3. The girls love your car, (the girls love your vette),
4. You got fingerprints on your car and the antenna got bent, (the
girls love your vette).
Man what I would give for your problems young man. Life is short, live it to its fullest. At 16 or 17, you own a vette so obviously you know what is important and are well on your way (AND the girls LOVE your vette; did I mention that?)
You are the man brother!

Drive it, that's why you bought it! I love all my vettes dearly and would be really pissed off if somebody did something stupid to them but I have to remember that they are just cars and they can be fixed if something happens. Some people will be jealous and stupid but most will appreciate what you have and think its cool.
Just be mindful of where you park it and the surroundings.

I feel for you. When you have a nice car it is always a tough call about where to drive it and park it. When I was your age and a senior in high school (about 30 years ago) I had a perfect condition 1969 Z/28 with the RS package and it always attracted attention, sometimes the wrong kind. It got to the point that I would ride my bike to school most days, unless it was raining or I was running really late. Good luck

Just Leave it home?
I had a Frame off 72 Roadster that the State of CT wouldn't register without the "Full" Drive you nuts inspection. First try, the inspector Failed me because there was no Fluid in the Washer Reservoir. Since he couldn't test the window cleaning ability of the car he failed it. Second time He called me "Inside" and a 30 year old Bronco with a lift kit parked next to me and "Dinged the door" Clear through all the paint and into the fiberglass!
The cost for me to redo the door, since I would have to hire someone, was likly to be more than the entire value of the Bronco. Can't get blood from a stone Thang. I didn't even go looking for the owner at DVM, I would have lost it ! And since I like stayin out of Jail. Well you know!
Now I won't go to typical parking lots. Only Shows, Cruzis, and places where there is guarenteed to be a lot of SPACE!
People who aren't "In To" their cars JUST DON"T GET IT!

girls,girls,girls
Life is to short, someone could total your car any time you drive it. Take advantage of what you have. You will be out of school soon and you won't have access to all them sweet young ladies. Then you'll do something dumb like me and get married and as the years and your hair disappear you'll wish you could go back. Enjoy life, being young and all those girls, girls girls!!!
