Good luck with the car. Could you list the SN & the options I see it has tilt wheel. I am a 1970 Corvette lover. I have 2 LT-1'S & a loaded 454 Conv. FYI the hood stripe & paint on the hood is original. Make sure you take pictures of it. Check to see if a tank sticker is on the tank

I don't think, its tacky, when someone asked: "What did you pay for it ? ".
They just want to know, how much to expect to pay for a find like that, in case they are looking for a similar "Barn find".

I often think, when I see a car like that: "Wonder, what that car will go for today".

I bought a 63 SWC in similar condition about 6 years ago. (didn't have to ask, what it goes for, was listed on Ebay). Car had been stored for 20 + years in Florida).

Car is now 99 % done, and I agree with above coments, that there is a LOT of work ahead to make this LT-1 nice.

I guess the only other option is besides the tilt tel wheel is the AM FM and the wheel covers which 3 were with the car. No ps or brakes. The wheels are all five dated dec 18th. The car tag is A22. It has the large oil pan. A little dissapointment in that the carb is the correct list and part number but is a late 73 date. I guess they had a problem and replaced it with the same part number. The spare tire was a 4ply nylon but does not appear to be original. The alternator has been changed also.

Another NC Barn Find. A few months ago I had a friend here at the beach tell me that he went with another guy to a HUGE WW2 vintage hanger around the Moyock NC area (Home of BlackWater Security Co.) that was FULL of early El Camino parts. Everything from rolling chassis to front clips. My friend told me the guy made the owner of this hanger a 10K offer and the guy took it! The only reservation that the seller imposed was the the buyer had to take all of it! GO FIGURE! I have lived in NC all of my life and I am still amazed at what people find around here. Enjoy that LT-1 and that PHAT Camaro! Hats off to you and your deal!

FYI: Try this real estate price on for size 1/3 acre lot in Cedar Island NC (Near Outer Banks) $995,000.00 and the lot is FULL of old fishing boat junk. Sold in a day!

Is is a CTU or CTK block?

He listed the trim tag date as A22... A car that early would have to have a "CTU" engine. You don't start seeing CTK engines until very late April 1970. The LT-1 that I just picked up is at the other end of the model year... G29 (July 29) if I recall correctly. Has the "CTK" engine and equal width hood stripes like the 1971-1972 LT-1s.

On an unrelated note, I did receive your email regarding Chatanooga... Right now, the team is full, but there may be a no-show on one of my judges. I'll get back to you on that this afternoon.

I was reading my old thread and thought I would update the status of my 70 LT-1. I have only used 4 cans of PB blaster and the only bolts broken were some on the rocker trim. The only rust repair on the frame was the bottom of the engine cross member. The mounts looked great and blasting took care of the rest. It's going a little slow as I have been enjoying the Camaro I finished last year and getting the bugs out of it. There is some rust in the windshield frame but the lower bird cage looks solid. No suprises except mice ate the wireing and fiber optic cables during the 23 years it has been off the road.
I have been able to talk to all 4 owners before me and have learned the history on the car. The original owner was the hardest to find as all I knew was he owned a tire store in Atlanta in 1970. No name of him or the store. And he told me when he moved after many years several years ago he found the bill of sale on the car. He's not sure were he put it as he still has stuff packed up he don't need but is sure he has it and will get me a copy of it.

Are you going with any mods or going back original? I'm on the original side of the track, that's how I put my '70 back together...or as much as I could. My build number is 13754, is yours an early or late build? Looks like you're making progress! Good luck!

z10kl nice find, I'm down south of Charlotte and picked up a 72 LT-1 vert last spring. If you are interested in selling your body dolly let me know. When I get my 71 coupe sold I will have room to start working on the new project and need a set-up like yours. BTW if you find any good sources for 72 LT-1 parts let me know.

I will restore to original with maybe some exceptions on bare metal finishes. The body dolley is from the Nolen Adams plan. Just some 2x4s and an afernoon to build it. The car was not actually in a barn as it had been moved at least once in the 23 years it sat. Part of the time under a shed and part of the time under a tarp. It was behind a house on a short gravel road off of a rual two lane county road on Lake Murray. The only way I knew about it is because it was owned by the brother in law of a very good friend of mine. The owner let my friend date his wife in it back in the 70s. I have pics from my friends BIL standing in front of it on prom night. And the third owner sent me pics from his wedding in 75.
