What do you think of this Vette?
Like it, love it, hate it.
I have worked a deal on this vette if I want it. The owner will pull his motor and sell me the car. I have a 383 Stroker I have not been able to sell. I am thinking of buying the car and putting my 383 in it. From what I am reading the my motor works well with a 700 R4 transmission. The question is, is the car saleable. I'm not sure I like the hood and the color is defiantly different. Do you think the car would bring 15k.
My stroker

I like it! I'd leave the wheels/hood/ground effects. Paint the bellhousing/oil pan to match the exterior. New exhaust is a must for your motor. Black interior would be bad. 18k?

Love that color.....but I'm not much on raised hoods. The original hood. or a stinger hood would look better. Chromed original slots would complete the package.

Depends on who is buying it and where you are selling it. Someone who loves the color and is looking for that year model may pay 15k, but I think that's the only way it will.

First you have to get the motor-less car to your location. Next you have to do the install and find out what mechanical issues the car has once you have it back on the road. (note car had a supercharged engine and was probably driven hard) Then you’ve got to fix the interior and any other issues if you want to get the $15k. In addition it was on Ebay for quite a while and apparently had no takers and months later is still for sale.
You want to go through all this to get your money back out of an engine???

If $15K is about what you will have in it why bother? Customs like that can be tricky you either love them or hate them. Anyone looking for a custom will want to change it to their personal taste.
The color on this car is a great example. The owner paid big bucks to get it that color and to put on that hood. Yet you hate it. You could be looking at that car for a long time before you find a buyer who likes it enough to part with $15K.
Unless you are going to make some good money on it forget about it and try to sell the engine on its own. Much less work and less risk.
