Default Where is the brake booster?

I was looking at a '69 on Ebay and there was no vacuum canister behind the master cylinder. They listed the car as power brakes so I emailed them and they said they were power. I don't understand.

Without seeing the pix, it may well mean the car has a hydroboost install, which is really good, as the car NOW as brakes that actually WORK....

They are just misinformed. Post the link, but I can guess it's a manual brake car and the seller just doesn't know the difference.

I dont think the seller knows there were manual options, and is probably guessing they have power brakes.

Really nice looking car. The seller calls himself "the Motor Mentor". He may need to take a class or two himself to learn how to recognize cars with manual vs. power brakes. That car doesn't have a booster so.......

one step on the brake pedal should have told them if the car had power brakes or not. That's clearly a manual brake car. Nice car though. Love the color but that pinstripe has to go

This person seems to only list cars for the owners. Here is the response he sent back to my question- "The car has power disc brakes, according to the owner. This question has been asked before and I have confirmed and re-confirmed."

no booster = manual brakes

According to corvette black book

If you are looking to buy this car, I would walk away. I base a great deal of my willingness to purchase a car based on the owner/seller. This guy has no business advertising this car. He's in it for the money and will only tell you what you need to hear in order to give him your money. I find this problem with classic car dealers all over the place.

Whoever is selling the car is wrong! It does not have power brakes, end of story. It is a very nice looking car and in a great colour combination, I have manual brakes on my car and most people who drive it would never have guessed it, peddle pressure is fine and brakes work well.

This car does NOT have power brakes and if the seller doesn't know this then he should not be in the business of selling cars. The owner obviously has no clue, and is probably unaware of any other problems the car might have. Even though the pics look good I wouldn't touch this one without having a thorough inspection by someone local who is knowledgeable.

I'd still push him by sending an e-mail question.. "How does the owner claim power brakes when the engine compartment photo clearly displays a manual brake car with no power brake booster in sight"

A very nice car power brakes or not, what got me was the description of the interior as "Rustic" . Sounds like a real estate agent trying his/her hand in the automobile business. Peace,,,Moosie
