Don’t let manual brake stop you from buying a 69. I have manual brakes on my 69 and I prefer them to power.

I just think that the owner & seller [if different folks] are totally ignorant about the car. Their ignorance should not be a reason to disregard the car for possible purchase. It's the folks who know a lot about the car and aren't willing to tell you the truth who should worry you. Any seller who was familiar with this car would not put up a photo of a "manual" brake car and continue to tell folks that it has power brakes, unless they just don't have a clue.

I tend to agree.
Look closely at ad ... that 23,000 mileage blurb is a prime example ... but no mileage where normally shown in tabular list ... seems to me THIS car would not have 23K ORIGINAL miles ... but his ad might lead someone to believe it does ... careful!

I've bought plenty of smaller stuff off fleabay i.e. new pistons ... they list the part number & describe as new ... I KNOW what a new piston is ... seldom disappointed. On the other hand, I've never bought a car off fleabay ... dunno that I ever would ... careful!

That sounds remarkably like the old saying "more than a mouthful's a waste" when referring to women's breasts - this statment is most frequently made by guys who's girlfriends have small breasts

Sorry, couldn't resist

Well it finally got straightened out.

03/13/08 IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL BIDDERS AND/OR PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS: IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS CORVETTE DOES NOT HAVE A POWER BOOSTER AND THUS DOES NOT HAVE POWER BRAKES AS DESCRIBED - AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND DISCUSSIONS WITH THE CURRENT OWNER, THE OWNER HAS TODAY PROVIDED ME WITH A CONCLUSIVE ANSWER: "You were right. Apparently, the car doesn't have power brakes. I checked in a restoration guide I have and learned that what I thought was the booster, actually was not.

If you're seriously thinking about buying the car and want a correct one, be careful. The radiator is wrong for a non-a/c small block. It should have an aluminum radiator with NO cap. The cap is on the expansion tank under the right fender. And that car has the wrong cap there. Minor points, but like Alan 71 said in another thread, "know the car."
Cheers,
Pete

Thanks. I was kind of put off by the brake deal and the fact that the owner is using a third party to list the car. I mean how can you own the car and tell people several times it has power brakes before you realize it doesn't? Also makes you wonder what kind of answer you'd get on questions about the frame or rust issues....
