Default looking at a 69...

I found a 69 numbers matching with a 350, 4 speed.
says that there are 13,000 miles on it.

owner says he has $17,000 in reciepts and hes looking for $15,000 or best offer. what do you guys think. what would a car like this actually be worth?

Sounds too good to be true. If it is true and is in good shape, tell no one else and buy it........

Not sure what you mine when you say "all original" and $17,000 receipts. With $17,000 you could just about replace ever part.

$15,000 sound right for a coupe with decent paint.

Very True. Can't be that "original"

13,000 vs 113,000. NOW it sounds about right, if there are no rust issues....

But be very careful. Look for rust in all the usual places.

i went and looked at the vette. paint could use some work but not too bad. couldnt find any rust. drives really nice. title shows 12,000 miles and the guy has put on a little bit more (pic).

the guy bough this car and his wife and daughter were going to drive it, but they wont drive a standard so hes looking for something automatic and newer. were possibly looking at a trade for my auto 75 for his 4 speed 69 plus cash. heres some pics.

does this sound good. with a little work this car would be worth a lot more.

I'm curious what he spent the $17,000 on? From the pictures it looks like it really needs cosmetics. What condition is the interior in? Seems like too much money at this point.

Alan

im not sure about 17,000 but theres new wiring harness and weatherstripping, vacuum systems, rear end, rear suspenson, front suspension, ignition system, new steering system. but all of it was done by a shop so labor costs. im not sure if thats close to 17,000 or not. i couldnt really get under the car but not any rust issues that i could see

the interior is pretty good. all trim is great, seats have a couple rips in places. no carpet or insulation but he has all of it new replacement in a box.

that may be a little high but to trade for a 75 and a little extra, would that not be agood deal in the long run?

I suppose that it would depend on the condition of the '75, but I wouldn't trade my '76 for that straight up. I would have some concerns about the $17,000 spent on it because it sure doesn't show that much money being spent on it.

Have you checked the numbers for yourself? Why would he switch all of the engine items to Edelbrock and MSD?

Depends on how much "a little cash" consists of.

How nice is your '75?

Looks like you will have a lot of work ahead of you.....I would trade my '76 for a '69 in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't want to get spanked in the wallet doing it either with that much work that will be needed. Looks like a project car...that WILL be worth more than your '75 SOMEDAY.

Are you 100% positive its a numbers matching?

Is your 75 in similar condition? If your 75 is super clean and well maintained and his 69 looks cosmetically the way it does, it might be a push at best for him. The 69 will need paint, emblems, chrome and a lot of TLC. That aint cheap.

I just noticed something peculiar in the photos. My 69 has a narrow bead of chrome around the windshield side edge of the lower windshield trim with the rest painted body color. That one has a solid chrome piece. Which is correct? BTW, mine is a numbers matching car and is supposed to be pretty much untampered.

On my 69 it is painted the same color as the car. And we have had the car since the early 70's, doubt its been changed!

I would offer the guy 5K. That car needs about 20K worth of work...and that's if you do most of it yourself.

$15,000 for that are you kidding. Thats a $5000 to $7000 car at tops. It also is a 200,000 mile car or it sat unprotected in a chick coup for 10 years. This is guy is telling one true thing, it's a 69. Make him a low offer and walk away.

For comparison I just bought this car for under $15K.

I think you could even DEDUCT $5000 just to haul away those wheels.
