Default What did you get done this weekend?

I got the tach reinstalled and dash cluster reinstalled. Forum member ACECO repaired the tach board for me and did a great job. Just got back from a week's vacation yesterday afternoon, so not much time for anything else car related, just unpacking stuff, and grass cutting.

Once again I managed to get absolutely nothing done this weekend.

Wait... I did wash the '03. Does that count?

Re-did my dual spal fan mounting configuration. Changed from through the radiator ties to using actual brackets.

I also finished my head change, and put the top end of the motor back together.....fired her up and drove it for the first time in at least two months.

Absolutely nothing. Took my son the college (Freshmen) it rained all weekend. I am depressed because my son is away, he is a great kid, which makes it tougher and I am home with 2 daughters 16 & 13 and the wife makes me crasy. I start a new job September 10th, so I am depressed and bored.

Anyone have a job for me until the Sept 10.

Finished up blasting and painting the serp setup for my car. Got the brackets mounted, periferals mounted, chased around and found the bolts I needed. Found out the radiator I have will not work without some serious mods to the mounts. Figured out I now also need to fab an air pump eliminator idler pulley. Mounted the Tranny cooler under the floor (Aluminum heat sink type)
Then sunday we had folks over for a lil eatin an drinkin by the pool

I made a bit of progress on my car this weekend.

I installed all 8 body mounts, installed my gas tank (replaced the rubber lines line to tank as well) and filled & installed my
differential and cross member.

I have pics, however they're at home with my camera.

lets see
i regrouted my tub enclosure ( man i hate grout)

removed my home made air divertor for the radiator
and reinstalled my air cleaner duct work and accordian
tube with it pointing at the open filter element.and stuffed
some foam in between the radiator and core support.
of course now its not as hot out so i wont be able to see
results if any until later this week.

also tore apart my under hood light and cleaned and repaired
the socket and wiring, while under there i installed a hidden switch
so i can shut the light off at car shows and cruise nights.

Rented Limo Saturday night to celebrate 11 year-old daughter's birthday...me, the wife and six girls in a limo for two hours with "High School Musical 2" turned up too loud...I'm getting old!

Sunday afternoon I went to a local church car show - won a "top 15" trophy with the '82. We are in a drought here in north Al but it rained about an hour before the show was over...had to wait the rain out before heading home (I don't mind her getting rained on just don't like to drive her in the rain). Met some nice folks with some really great rides. It's neat to go to small shows like this...no one had an attitude.

All in all a great weekend!

Worked on some wiring under the hood. 35 years and God knows how many owners and Bubbas have left about 6-8 odd wires coming out of all locations. Some home cooked wiring and even a wire without any insulation.

What I need is a stock 72 with air/ manual to park in my driveway for an afternoon. Probably not going to happen........

Replaced the battery cables and put a heat shield on the starter. Seemed like a good way to cause cooler weather (unfortunately got lots of rain with it).

Continued painting the figures in two nativity sets for my grandchildren. The end is in sight and they'll be ready long before Christmas.

Cleaned garage,
Added an extra overhead light,
Pulled vette diagonal across garage,
Stripped the passenger side of my 78 with a razor,
Fixed hole in drivers fender,
Removed passenger door panel, glass, mirror, handle and lock,
Fit the front tru-flex bumper, blasted and painted supports,
Removed old rear urethane bumper, blasted and painted supports,
Removed passenger seat and took off cover,
Went to the gym,
Went for a run,
Played with the dog,
Watched Powerblock and Bruce Lee.
