Just use an $8 one from Autozone, but use a gasket instead of the o-ring.
Otherwise the taller ones with the 90 degree neck that swivils works real good.
You can get them of the net for around $15

I've had two of those cheap chrome housings rot away from the inside and leak. And you're right, I also used a gasket instead of the o-ring. I ended up using a stock GM.

Obviously the bolts pull the housing down far enough to stop the swivel neck moving if you use a gasket instead of the 'O' ring?

The stock one is OK, if you want to look like every other vette on the planet.
But sometimes people like a little pasazzz in their life, You know like a pine tree air freshener on the mirror or a heartbeat across the windshield that their best friend drew with magic marker, or a simple chrome or polished water neck to go with the other $2000 worth of chrome on the engine!

I see you're up the road from me in Plainfield. Have you given Winners Circle downtown Joliet a call?

Using chrome parts is fine, as long as you get the right stuff. There's too many cheap repro's available today that people fall for. All I'm saying is stick with what works where it's a critical part, like the thermostat housing. Too many leaking chrome one's out there!
Lot's of us have the chrome alternators, master cylinder's, etc(not me, but they're available). Nothing wrong with that, if that's your thing.

The chrome ones generally don't seal as well... Even the ones with the thicker flange!

Tim you can get the "pazaa" out of this unit if you polish it up! They are aluminum!
