Is this '69 roadster worth $7,500?????
I've got a guy in my area that's selling a '69 corvette roadster that's basically the firewall back, sitting on a complete rolling frame with the rearend and a muncie M-21. It's supposed to be a true 400hp 427 car but doesn't have the motor. My local Corvette guy said you would have to drop the gas tank to see if it's a real L-whatever. I was thinking about buying it to part out since I don't have the money to put the front end back on. It doesn't have the tilt/tele column and isn't an A/C car. Is this thing worth more than $7,500 either parted or sold "as is"???? Thanks!!!!!

I don't think it is worth it as parts or for a basis for a rebuilt car.
The only way it could be is if the frame on it is cherry and you had a coupe with rusted out frame and you were planning to convert the coupe to a convertible.

Just remember it will never be what it once was. Looks like a sizeable money pit to me. Time and a lot of cash will be needed even to get it into a driver state. Just to much for so little

Its got leather, power windows and a 4 speed. If its a real big block, I think its worth picking up. Check the tank sticker, rear sway bar, U-joint retainers and emissions sticker code to see if its really a big block car.

I would in no way want to put it back together. What I'm stuck on is that I bought a roach of a 69 T-top car for $200......and I mean a roach. It did have the tilt/tele though...and a rear defroster, which is rare. I got just under $4,000 in parts on eBay and had to give the shell away. However, it didn't have anything but the tub and interior. No frame...ect. I was thinking if I got that much from that car, then what would a convert with a frame, 4 speed and rearend bring. Funny thing is that it seems like the rearends and frames don't sell all that well. Just another thought!

I don't see that kind of value in this car. If it doesn't have the original engine with it, I can't see any more value than if it was originally a small block. Maybe I'm missing something here, but what makes you think the parts will have more value because the car they came with was a 400/427?

I'm new and didn't realize that this is not the place for this post. I'll try to move it. I don't think it's worth more because of that fact. It's because the parts on the T-top car were junk and they still brought good money. The 4 speed is worth a grand where I live. Correct rally wheels bring the cash too....ect. I'm trying to get the guy to come down to $5,000, then I think I'm safe. One thing can't be argued.....Some of you Vette owners pay crazy money for your parts. I'm sure most of you are like me and get your parts on the cheap, but not all of you......LOL. Thanks for the imput guys.

I remember this car.
Nope. This same car was on ebay a couple of months ago. Got up to about $5800 and no sale.
I talked to the guy. Originally Monaco Orange, and has no tank sticker. I thought about buying it but didn't. Front fiberglass is gone, and rear is screwed up from mods to the spoiler and a hole in one side. Frame bent in front from collision.
The seller thinks its great because it has a "427 heritage," but all that is GONE! I didn't think it was worth it.... but if you can get it for $5K or so, price the wheels, seatbelts, headrests, and seat tracks to me.
Good Luck.

I bought a 69 vert that had a junk front clip,no motor/trans/rearend,and no interior.AT ALL!I paid considerably less for the car than the ont that you are asking about, but the little pieces are KILLING me to try to put this thing back together.
I know that you were considering parting it,but a nice roller is around 4k tops, and the body is a couple grand, then you'd have a trans, and some interior pieces to play w/to try to come up w/the other 1500.00 to JUST break EVEN!
69s ARE the most popular of the C3s,or most desired,I shoulod say.If you could get the price around 5k,then take a year,or so to build it w/a later LT1,4-speed auto,etc.,etc.,then you could make some money, but you are going to have a tone of hours in it.Your car made mine look like a show car when I drug it home!
I'd let this go,if the guy won't come down to around 5k,and apparentley he isn't willing to do that,if it ran up to 58 on ebay.

Le Mans Master
As a part out car, I would pass. If you want a project it might be worth it if the frame isn't tweaked, but there is a lot of high dollar stuff missing. Probably never be like it was new, but late FI driveline and make a nice cruiser.

Melting Slicks
Another case of a person trying to get some money for a 1969 vehicle. It's a corvette so I think I can get a lot because it is a Vette, and a FKD UP Vette at that. Offers like this really trip me out.

I guess I'm surprised. My area of expertise is Camaros. I know if it was a basket case '69 Convert camaro, it would have been snatched up in a heart beat. I figured a Vette would be about the same, but I guess not. I guess the 1st gen camaros are about like the '63-'67 Vette. Who knows but I am passing because he emailed me and said he wants to own it for a VERY LONG TIME.....not willing to come down in price. Thanks guys~
