On the right is where the new 4-post lift is going TOMORROW. Also, you can see the remnants of the old paint booth. I just can't convince myself to take it down completely.

I use two 8' long 4x4s as the stops for the Corvette, and the Cadillac as added parking devices.
LOL - My daily driver is a CTS as well (love it) and I too use the infamous tennis ball park stop. Can't mount the wall-based auto-park devices (stuff on the wall), but considering the laser park system that mounts to the door opener.

3/4 Basement garage ..... I should have never agreed to the "bonus room" .... I'd have room for TWO MORE projects! The overhead floor joists WILL hold a Big Block!

About that laser parking system:

I ordered it from Griot's Garage and, unfortunately, it was a defective unit so it went back for exchange. Theorectically this should be an effective system- hoping that the laser shoots through the windshield to a point on the dash. Is anyone using this product?

I went low-tech in two ways. On the wife's car, I attached a tennis ball to a length of twine and hung it from the ceiling. The car is correctly positioned when the ball is centered on the steering wheel and just touches the windshield. This actually works VERY WELL.

On the Vette, I got one of those yellow pads with two bumps. When you park, you cross the first bump. The second bump tells you that you've gone too far. Works on the Vette, but with the wife's SUV, you can't feel the bumps thus the tennis ball.

I ordered this for my wife and i put one on my side not to take flack from her about the girl thing. They were 39.00 and they run on battery or 110 volt. It just like a stop light so she can't screw up. You park the car where you want it and hit the sensor button it locks in the location so you park at the exact spot every time. Before she would park as close to the entrance door as possible. What a pita that was.

Z-Man and Spedaleden:

Thanks for the ideas. I thought about the tennis ball method but just know I'll walk into it every opportunity- BONK! The 'stoplight' system is also sold at Griot's Garage (item # 36816)- it was my second choice and may still be the way I'll go. I'll see if the laser parking replacement unit punks out like the first one. The floor bumps would just be another thing for me to trip over- after I bumped my head on that tennis ball!

Man, there are some nice toys packed away in some of the garages here

I love staring at my one vette sitting there, but some of you lucky dogs have two or three to daydream about

Is that one of the very rare REAR ENGINE - FRONT DRIVE 73 models we read about? You could probably sell that on FleaBay !

Default Two Garages Both Full

This is the one where i hang out, tune up the Bose and have a couple of cold ones at the end of the day. I didn,t have enough room for my c4 so i had a slab poured for it and covered half with a privacy fence (detachable top) for my Gravely and John Deer truck.
The other one used primarily for car storage and quick computer searches while looking for parts or info.
