[PICs] Rally rims reborn!
Here's how sad they were before...
(originals, sat on vette for about 27 years, never moved, deep pits)
...now their happy again
This was my first 'actual' paint job, besides shooting primer out of the gun, was bit nervous about making a mess, but they came out really good, suprised myself. Used the original Argent Silver (DAR 8568) color, and semi-gloss black on back. The pitting was really bad, so I decided not to media blast them and possibly make them worse, so I hand sanded them, wow what a job that turned into
The weather was holding up progress, so at least I caught a few nice days to be able to get this done, now my hands can recover and on to next project, which is finishing up rolling chassis and dropping motor/body

Look great. If you really wantedto make them look period correct, you should have allowed some silver overspray over the black.

Thanks for all the compliments, much appreciated. This is my first 'big' project and something I have never done before, I joined the forum this time last year, and with a lot of reading, research and questions I am starting to wrap this up and feeling good about it. I brought the vette to the shop June 4, 2006 last year (my birthday), and my goal is to have it on the road June 4, 2007...paint may not be done, or may be stripped, but long as I can cruise it down the street and it runs is what matters.
Here's my first post when I joined, looking back I can see I came a long way
