Actually Dean after the Old Chicken Farmer got AC to ship him some body/chassis's he went to Chevrolet first looking for engines - they told him they weren't interested they already had a Sports Car. So he went across the street and talked to Iacocca.
That is why Cobra's had Ford's in them.
Personally, although I know it's not PC I like the Special Olympics reply.
