he only cobra that was produced in 2000 was the limited production cobra r which featured a 5.4 liter v8 and was rated at 385 horsepower...only came in red...ford cancelled the production of the cobra in 2000 because the 1999 models did not produce the horsepower that ford claimed...the cobra returned in 2001 with 320 horses under the hood (1999) models fell quite short of that figure...again the cobra disappeared in 2002 and returned in 2003 with a supercharged version of the 4.6 liter engine...
all cobra models feature the dual overhead cam 32 valve 4.6 liter (281 cid) v8 engine, the 1999 and 2001 cobras were rated at 320 rw horsepower with a 5 speed manual and the 2003 cobras were rated at 390 rw horsepower and featured a 6 speed transmission.

The cobra's of that vintage are 300+hp and high 13's with a decent driver in the 1/4.
That means you're at least 10 car lengths slower in the 1/4.

Sounds like pinks to me, I want 10 car lengths, no I'll give you 3 OK OK you can have 6. I'll still put my $$ on the little snake. My buddy has one w/the crammer race motor I smoked his tires for 100 feet. Try doing that w/a 87 vette wedge.

These figures always amaze me,as I judge most times/speed figures by an old 61 fullie we had back in the mid 60s..and it was stock. It would run very, very low 14s at just over a 100mph. So,I am a little dissapointed by those 87 figures.Heck,my buddies 57 ran in the 15s (and so did the corvair spyder)and theywere by no means a "hot rod"
