Default C3 paint finally done!

This has been a long time coming. My C3 has been in the shop for over 6 months.

My deal with the body and paint guy was he could move other work in front of it, in exchange for a decent price on mine if he could work on it as time permitted.

It was a long wait. I've worked on the body off frame for 2 years, now the paint is finally finished, and now the fun part, putting all the new trim pieces on. Should be fun.

Then the new interior, etc. Maybe some day it will actually be done.

I am very pleased with the paint. It's absolutely perfect. One of the best paint jobs I've ever seen. But it was pricey!

Now the fun begins.

Bill, your car looks nice, but what are you doing with a "poor man's" C3 with a GT 40 and Porsche Carrera sitting in the garage?

One look at that and the market value of all rubber bumper sharks just went up!

Excellent!

How about blue metalic with a yellow stripe.

The car turned out awsome. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks

I prefer the two colors on two separate cars, unfortunately there's no room in the garage for two cars

No problem. I don't mind disclosing the cost. I know the guy pretty well and have referred him quite a bit of business, so that may have helped. He gave me the entire print out which came out at $10,900, just over 230 hours. However, he himself said his guys got a little carried away on trying their best to make it top notch, so he cut me a deal, at least that's how he put it, at 9k.

That's a lot, but I just couldn't be more pleased with the quality. Door jams, inside door sides, etc. are just like the rest of the car, and they were very careful about no overspray on any of the completed underside and engine compartment.

I spent much of this afternoon putting trim pieces on. Every piece just makes it look better. I'm a happy camper!

Well Kalaway, it's a sickness, but you never forget your "first love".

Bill, your car looks absolutely killer, can't wait to see it complete. What year is it? I noticed the clean looking bumpers without the ugly bumper guards, something that I wish I had on my 77.
