I know exactly what you mean.
Right now I am waxing my 68 coupe with a neighbor's Porter Cable Random Orbital and while I wait for the wax to dry and get hazy I chat on the internet. Only need to go in the house to use the bathroom, maybe I should get a porta-potty for the garage.
Have my stereo, computer, fridge, hotplate for coffee, life is good.

My wife doesn't mind what I do in the garage becasue at least she knows where I am.
My standard argument to her is :
Some folks stick it in their arm, some stick it up their nose, I stick it in the garage and I can get my money back so no harm done. She agrees.

Just finished waxing the hood , roof, and rear deck, now on to the sides
