Default Winter Blues.....What do you do?

I just can't help feeling down that soon, in our part of the country(Nebraska) there will be no more Corvette days. There will be rain, snow and extreme cold. My 73 is put away for the season and my 86's drivable days are numbered. How do you guys fight the winter doldrums and the acceleration withdrawals? Help a guy get through it!

Don't say move to texas or fla or where ever!

Well, Im depressed now. I was just outside sitting in the spa with a slight wind, no clouds and a very deep blue sky.. I got out thinking I would pull the Vette out and take care of some business today. After I finished my shower and looked out the window, it was raining harder than a cow ****'n on a flat rock. Ya just gotta love the weather here in Southern Oregon! . So much for cruising in the Vette today! I guess its gonna be a truck day.. ****... Kleenex.. Hmmm... Naahhh.. Wife is just way too cute and after 30 years, I still just can't get enough of her. Even if it is just holding hands at the mall.. She makes my day!

Work on getting the Hayabusa ready for the strip. Read all the magazines I didn't have time to read over the summer.

Although it isn't an issue for me now, I haven't lived in AZ that long.

Wintertime is time for wrenching - do some projects on the car to pass the cold months away.

Oh, and hockey too, I must agree with G Dad - my kid plays down here in AZ for the Phoenix Polar Bears.

This winter will be different for me. I am taking over my Father's '78, and plan on starting the restoration process on it during the winter. She runs, but needs a lot of TLC.

Now that is an idea.

3rd Vette, nice to hear that you lucked out with the wife. I did too, but the problem is when she figures out what "we" spent on racing this year holding hands is all I am probably going to get! I use the word "we" spent just like she used the word "we" with the new living room set.

We..(my wife and I) spent a small fortune on a 20x24 theater room, complete with a 65" HDTV Mitsubishi and a Yamaha Zilloin Watt Surround sound system last year.. That is one thing she isn't letting me forget that easy! Lucky for me, she uses it more than I do. (the sofa in there is great for those chick flicks she likes and ............ I just leave it at that!

It's in the 70s here today & I just got back from a beautiful drive on a very twisty back road that took over an hour. The road is very tight w/ alot of elevation changes mixed w/ the curves. It's far enough out of town that I didn't have a single car on the road in either direction. The fall sights were gorgeous & the drive itself, while sane, was very vigorous. This was in the Z28 in my pic & just thinking of this drive during the winter weather will put a smile on my face.

To help pass the time I'll put new leaf springs & CalTracs bars on the Z28. If time permits I'll also put a Baer brake kit on it & maybe put lowering springs in the front. There's not much I can do on the Vette cuz this summer I went through the suspension & put a Wilwood brake kit on it. I'll spend the rest of my spare time fighting w/ the wife.
