Here here !!!
Most of the information that I require for my 1980 Corvette is found by searching previous threads. The CorvetteForum is a great resource !!!!
I hope to attend a CruiseIn event as well as the NCM in BG in the near future.

If they sell their C3, then they don't hang around. Flareside (Joe) had a nice 68 which he couldn't bear to chop up, so he sold it and bought a project 68, tore that apart... then sold it! bought a C4... then a C5 I think... then I lost track 69er (nother Joe) I believe sold his 69. I think Juliet still owns her blue 70... but I know she also bought a yellow C4 vert, then a C5, and didn't she just post saying she was going to buy a (GASP!) C6?? atomic orange, or some silly new color like that!
And Joe Lucia? Not only does he know every C-3 part number, he owns 2 or 3 of most of them! (true!). NCRS gave him an award for his contributions to the tech board. Saw him (and Doc Rebuild) at Carlisle last month. (and that Paul B guy, and GTR1999 and ZL1pwr.. and a few others)

When I came here I knew nothing about Vettes (still don't) I was Silvr77 for many yrs, then bought the '72. With the help of the Forum & it's members, I've restored every inch of that 72 myself (except paint & rear bearings) Just wanted to say THANKS GUYS...OLD FARTS INCLUDED.
Say...how about Monty?? He built a twin turbo 1000HP '80 didn't he? He was here, gone for the birth of his daughter, then returned a few months ago. Think he hangs in engine mods.

I guess I'm a noob, but when I bought the '80 back in January I had to find a place with useful information. So far, the car has been down since Memorial day weekend. I pulled the old motor out which was in such bad shape it amazes me that it ran. The great part was it was a 305. If only I owned a boat that needed an anchor. So...I replaced it with a new gmpp 350/330 motor that I actually got in place the next weekend. Well, then the summer vacations hit and it was nearly a month before I got the new motor fired up. While I had the motor out I replaced the torque converter since I was there. Too bad I didn't know the trans was a TH350C. Nope the car wouldn't move since I now had a non-lockup converter in it. Trans out. The car has been on jackstands since the 2nd of August. I had a friend rebuild the tranny, usually takes him a while since he does have a real job, but he does the best work around and won't rip me off. So I got it back this past Monday and will be installing it today. I want that car to be self propelled. I know I sort of hi jacked the thread, but as a semi noob I want to make useful contributions and spread a little humor from time to time. Look for a post from me later today cause I'll either be a happy camper or cursing the world.

good to see all the OFC members step back in every once in a while and say hello. the landscape has changed here over the years but it is still the hotest thing going in vette world.

Hey - still here!!
I pick up good tips all the time. I've had my Vette so long that the whole forum is still relatively new to me.
Now that my renovation is mostly complete, I'd like to focus more on driving to some neat places and maybe make some of these cruises everyone talks about... Of course, my timing is perfect. Fall is approaching and winter can't be far behind. Only six more months until spring!!

I guess Aug 99 qualifies me for the OFC......This forum would be a MUCH better place without post counts and those stupid little stars.....unless it`s true that he who dies with the most posts wins!!

Come to think of it, where IS Monty? I think I missed his original buildup except to see the end result. Since Merlin is gone, I was looking forward to watching his new project happen. Monty - you still here???
