Default Carlisle Burnout Competition

Here are some photos I took from Friday evenings Burnout Competition at Carlisle:
The 1st competitor

This guys had some major issues (car died on the way to the burnout pad and had to be pushed off, lurched it sideways, on the next attempt it went forward almost into the jersey wall), but when it got going SHE WAS SWEET

Lance Miller, Chip's Boy, showing them up

Nice C4 going ALL OUT

This Vette was built specially for burnout competetions. Like the colored tire treads

Cool pics. First time I have seen a colored burnout though. I like it.

No padding on the concrete if something goes wrong? Guess either you see a great burn out or a great crash.

It was a lot of fun watching that! Only four cars entered but as it wore on more started to line up. LOL Ol gearhead I can do it better started kicking in.
I hope they continue this next year.

There was a c5 on Saturday that was covered in rubber from its burnout. Looked like splatter paint.

Why would they put in a Jersey barrier in front of the car. I would not do it just for that reason. If the line lock or something went wrong you crash into. Kind of a stupid idea.

Probably for safety.
People do leave less scratches, though.
No line lock - no burnout, I guess.

No burnout contest in the Baymont parking lot this year ??

so who won the Friday contest? I saw the red smoke from the Fun Display area and from my standpoint, that car was the hands down winner. I wonder how many people were mad that a cloud of burnt rubber was raining down on their cars?

I enjoyed the burnout contest and certainly hope everyone else did as well. If you guys have some free time, take this online survey to help us improve the overall event for the future: click here.

Thank you in advance for your consideration,

Lance

Clutch is ok on the Z06. Man that Jersey wall did me in. No line lock and being first off not really enough water to get a good spin going.

OK so I wimped out but at least I brought it home in one piece. It was fun and glad Tom wallace gave it a try. I can always say my car was the first one to attempt an "official" burnout at Corvettes at Carlisle. Way to go Lance
