You basically have three options

1. Hooker Sideout Headers and pipes, by far the most expensive unless your happy with the black paint. Otherwise expect to spend over a grand. By far Highest quality, best performace, most tunability (swapping between the 4 different types mufflers you can throw in there)

2. Patriot Pipes, they run a about 200-250 depending on the style. Shielded vs the imitation 4 into one pipes. You could probably have a whole set up for about 400 and most likely the best bet it your on a budget.

3. Factory style pipes, Pick up a set of repro pipes and some fiberglass repro covers, and the wallet won't weigh a ton less. But if you want the Metal repro covers your gonna be paying almost as much as the hooker set up for just the covers.

Those are what I've seen so far, other than a few really nice homemade setups on the forums. Try a seach, I'm sure you'll find pics that will help you decide. Welcome to the forum and congats on the Vette!

Later,
Chad

Hope you enjoy them. Most folks I know had them cut off after they got burnt twice, and the GF or wifey got burnt the first time.

That's for sure, my sons girlfriend and my wife both got bad burns from my Hooker pipes. Bought heat shields last year....problem solved.

I still have mine, even after a few driver/passenger burns (they were minor). The sidepipes just look and sound too good!!

They are Hookers with Heat shields from Cobra Stuff ( http://www.cobrastuff.com/) They bolt to the frame under the rocker molding. Note that they come with headers also. They are a bit more work to install, but the whole package works well. More power, better sound and looks. Wish my paint looked as good as Red73. You can but them from Summit also.http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...+115&x=18&y=10

Got my Patriots on a couple weeks back and love them. cost 250 shipped from JcWhitney. I mounted them on the car then payed 200 to have them hooked up to my shorty headers. Love the sound!!! MY wife did get a burn this weekend but it wasn't bad and i'm sure she won't do it again.

just to make you really want them here is a sound clip

I've got to stick a post in here so I can listen to that clip at home tonight. I haven't done anything to get in trouble with my wife recently. (At least not that I remember.) Sidepipes would cure that.

Best side pipe photo ever, looks kinda liquid....
How hard is it to remember (or to remind a passenger) not to stick your leg on a flame-hot steel pipe?
Sort of like remembering not to slam your fingers in the door when you close it
