Hello fellow CF members. as posted in stock C3 show as well, minus the interior shot:

just a simple wow on the cars mine is up against.
I appreciate being voted into the top 5, especially given the competition.

a little info on mine:
56k original miles 350 L46 4 speed original colors
obviously not NCRS, but mainly original. (body was block sanded too well to ever be NCRS even if I wanted to)
frame off restored in 2000
lifelong arizona car until I bought it
won the Kerbeck 2005 Corvette forum "best in show" trophy
previous owner won 2 concours awards in 2001 and 2002
Won best in show in every show ive entered for my class....gotten away from showing it lately though and just enjoy cruising it around 2-3times a week weather permitting.
The car was block sanded to near perfection then base/clear(many coats) in the original tuxedo black color(1 of approximately 1000-real numbers arent known)
This is the exact car I have dreamed of owning, all the way down to the sidepipes and cragars, since I was in my early teens.

good luck fellow participants!

a picture of the car circa 1999 during the restoration. maybe this will give a little hope to everyone in the middle of their own restoration.

Sacred, you got my vote!

wnjLt1almost had it until I took a good look at the rims
I Love the AR rims but the huge diameter looks wrong on a C3
....sorry, just my opinion :

I can't believe I made it to the finals.
My Vette I bought over 6 years ago and my wife has been giving be an ear beating over it ever since.

It began life as an L-46 but that engine along with the seat belts and rear window were long gone when I got it. I replaced the engine, in late 2004, with a 454 which took over 2 years to build. I built the engine from scratch and essentially alone and under constant doubt from my wife.

The engine is balanced, blue printed, bored 60 over, has a CompCam XE 282S solid lifter cam, TRW LS-6 pistons, Manly rods, Clevite 77 bearings, M-77 oil pump, Severe Duty rocker arms, GMPP Signature Series 110cc oval port aluminum heads with 2.25 valves. The intake is a Weiand Stealth and currently using a Holley 750 DP. I'm running a '69 side exhaust thru slightly modified stock exhaust manifold. I bought the side exhaust and M-22 from forum members here.

My vette was painted by the previous owner who I could not track. After trying to have the paint computer matched, I think it is painted in a modified '78 SA striping and similar colors. Since it had a Balwin Motion type stripe running over the top of the car, that became my "theme." The hood I replaced with an L-88 with the switch to a BB. I extended the racing strip down over the hood ending in the cove. Until recently I was running a full L-88 airchamber/air cleaner setup but have recently removed the air chamber due to clearance issues.

The wheels are American Racing Toruque Thrust II's, as if you can't tell. I didn't like the big wheel look of the 17+ rims and liked a little more rubber showing. The tires are Goodyear HP-Ultra-Plus, 255-50-16's. About the same time that I got the tires I rebuilt the front end with Energy Suspension bushings and cut 3/4 of a coil off stock replacement springs. I have 550's in the garage IU haven't installed yet.

The bumpers have been re-chromed "show quality" and I added bubble rear lights. You can read more about my Vette at my site below. More mods not listed are 2003 C5 leather seats, Sharkbar, Simpson racing harness, Leman's fliptop fuel filler and a Hurst Competition Plus shifter.

I'm one of the original NCRS guys here on the forum along with Norm (Lotahp) and Gator454(MIA).

Thanks for the votes, I appreciate your support and approval.

...

...The white thing on the passenger seat in this picture is a large towel. I placed it on the seat for my wife's benefit. It was a 90+ degree day and we were on our way to a car cruise. 90 degrees plus the engine heat = instant sauna.

.....

Ok, my car is a 1971 Steel Cities Gray Convertible. It was frame off restored 10 yrs ago when it had aprox 150K miles. The restoration was freshened 2yrs ago (drivetrain pulled and detailed). It was NCRS Topflighted in 2003 and was featured in the May 2004 edition of Corvette Enthusiast Magazine. It's a consistent show winner with a Best in Show at last years Class Glass Corvette Show. This car is driven and enjoyed weekly, weather permitting.

I think it's great just to be considered in the top 5.

Thanks for looking and voting!!

Finally Catching up with forum business!!

A little bit of history on my car:

My 72 LS5, 4 speed is mainly original with 82k miles, it was basically maintained over the years. I am the fourth owner and I have history back to the original owner including his registration and dealer packet. I have no contact with him so if anyone know's Frank Bonacci from Ridgefield Ct, let him know I have his car. It was painted in 1986 by the second owner who owned it for 29 years (purchased it in 1973) and won over 40 first place trophies with the car. The third owner had it three years and put about 800 miles on it before selling it to me.

It was on the cover of Vette Vues and Keepin' Track of Vettes and other than the wheels that I recently replaced it looks as it did then.

I have the PO2's and white walls stored away.

Here are some pictures, Enjoy and thanks for looking!!

Theres no Frank Bonacci listed in Ridgefield, CT but there's one in Danbury and one in Newton Connecticut, you should give him a call. The guy in Danbury is born in '54 , might be a tad young for your car but then again maybe Daddy had money. Phone numbers are listed.
