Default [O/T] Making progress on new garage!

I'm putting up a 30x40x10 garage. I'm hoping for a car lift in a couple of years so I can have better access to do the things I'd really like to do with my vette Hoping I'll be able to park underneath the lift also if I need/ want to for added parking space.

Here my son & I have been doing some excavating with the tractor:

The floor is done:

We have the walls and roof up:

And one more from inside

Love the shop!!! Are you doing most of the physical work yourself? What sort of budget does a project like that need?

I'm going to school full time along with working full time right now so I had to hire it out for the build otherwise I would have done it myself with the help of a friend. I did all the excavating before school started.

I could have gotten a kit from 84 Lumber this size for $8500. I had called 2 people for quotes on the floor when I was going to build it myself but they never called back with prices so I ran out of time to do it myself. With singles and vinyl siding, it'll be $26k complete. I'll wire, insulate and sheetrock as I have time

I'm excited because I'll finally have a smooth floor that I'll be able to use a creeper on and have room to pull an engine from the side now instead of being forced to go from the front only

Looking good, I see you raised the sides up so the ceiling hight will be 10 feet or more to give room for a lift. I did that once back in 77 and it worked great.

Default Nice...

WOW- I can appreciate what you have done. I'm working on mine-a lot smaller- I could only get away w/ a 24X30X10-thanks to zoning. However I'm going w/ a 12:12 pitched roof and I'll have room for storage /shop above.

You might want to go ahead and buy the sheetrock-it's going up in price daily!

My buddy and I were discussing garages / pole barns today at lunch. He has a crowded letterpress printshop in his basement. Unfortunately, both of us currently live in places where we don't have room / zoning for outbuildings.
