Stolen 68 Vette in San Francisco Bay Area...
This was in the Craigslist Bay Area ads... I saw the vette advertised for a while and then saw it posted as stolen...I guess you have to be careful who you show you vette too..
I know the hood will be easy to spot if you see it advertised somewhere.

That would suck! There are some red corvette parts and a red corvette hardtop that just showed up on ebay a day or so ago. I doubt its the same ones and someone would be that stupid.
Doesnt look like a triple duece carb set up on the motor, maybe it was laying around the storage.

Jim, you shoud (if haven't already) email the victim and
show him this thread. The CF is the most powerful tool
for him right now. He should see this thread and follow it.

Thank you David. I am recovering from a back surgery, 1 week ago yesterday. I tried to post a reply to the thread, but wasn't registered. So I registered, and am awaiting the admin go-ahead. Could you post the fact that its more of a copper color than red? The lighting made it look red. The triple deuce carb was converted to a four-barrel, but my dad has the original triple deuce, lot of good it will do him. Thank you, mike

Hi there everyone. I'm here because that nice fellow Jim recommended it. I'm a bit stiff at the moment, but I'd appreciate you all keeping an eye open for me. Apparently these guys pushed at out the locked double-privacy gates- they cut and took the chains and towed it. I only showed it to one guy and his brother. It was covered up in a couple of covers with tarps over that. There is a tow company right next door, but they don't know anything about it. I've checked with the u-hauls in the area- no help there either. The cops did come out and poke around for a while one day, but no word, nor have I seen any parts from it come up. I feel pretty bad about it- it was my dad's. He was restoring it, and fell ill to diabetes among other things. He is a retired fireman, and there is a CSFA I think that's it, a firefighter logo in the rear window. He moved to AZ and I was trying to sell it for him- this was a big chunk of his savings for retirement-long story there. If you need any info- I'm open to sharing it. I'd appreciate suggestions as well. God bless, mike (plumb)

This was sent to me i an E-Mail from the seller
Thank you Jim. I can't be up for long enough to repost yet. I did see your thread, thank you. I couldn't post a reply because I hadn't registered, so I did so, and am awaiting the admin go-ahead. Could you post the fact that the car is a copper color, not red? The red is from the lighting- in direct sunlight, it looks a copper mettalic color. Thank you so much for the help. All I've found out so far is that they pushed it a ways before towing it away. I've checked u-haul-s in the area to no avail. I've got a couple of weeks left in recovery from the back surgery and then I'll get it re-posted. I wish I could do more, but I've been up too long now. Thank you for all your help, I'll take all I can get. I just feel terrible. mike

do you know what city in the SF Bay area this was located at. I am in San Jose area, but that may not help if the car was up in Redwood City, or north. Just knowing what city it was stolen from could help too.
