Curious as to what others have for idle and driving oil pressure.

Mine is about the same as chevylits. Engine warm at idle around 20lbs and cruise right at 40 lbs. Mine is a 77 L-48 newly overhauled

My 355 engine is not stock. I have a HV Melling pump that has 30psi at 600RPM idle and 50psi at cruise. However I've never checked the true pressure using a calibrated mechanical guage.

... sorry, I couldn't resist
(don't worry about the temp, I'll fix that gauge just like I fixed the oil pressure one!)

I had the same with my stock 76.
Idle cold 40
Idle warm little over 20
Driving cold/warm a little over 40.
There is a relief valve on the oil pump that prevents high oil pressure. The stock setup should limit oil pressure to about 40lbs.
