Default Guess whos 16 yr old decided to drive through the garage wall.

I jinked myself a couple of days ago by letting my 16 yr old start my car. She's got a license and seems to be smart. Well today she decided to start my vette to impress a few friends and the car was in gear. Damage includes the garage wall be pushed 3" to 4", a huge crack in the spare bedroom wall, a totalled tool box, banged up very nice frig, and some broken slatwall. The vette has not paint on the front bumper and a cracked pass fender. Also a 4" X 4" Chunk of paint missing. She most of hit it pretty hard because there are to patches of rubber and missing floor stain. I'm so pissed right now and this is the only way I can get it out. Hell I bet my insurance agent laughs at me tomorrow and tells me fat chance of this being covered. I was planning on going to the forum cruise, but now the car looks so getto.

Got to love our kids, but my god are they all this stupid?

I would drop a gold brick if I came home to that.

I am looking forward to meeting some of the C3 folks at the Cruise In and seeing your LS C3 was one I was looking forward to seeing. Come on up and I will buy you a cold beverage of your choice and we can hopefully laugh about it.

Budman very sorry to hear of this. I sure hope you are covered. But as you know things do happen sorry to say some are expensive.

But just because your car got banged up a bit should not keep you from going on the cruise. If nothing is falling off and safe to drive take it and have some fun.

Might not pay to turn it in to your insurance. You'd have to lie if you said it was you, and it will ruin her insurance rates if you tell the truth!

When we were kids, my neighbor shot himself in the foot....if that makes you feel any better. Also, she's into cars - that's good. It could be drugs or sex or ....

Boy that sucks, sorry to hear about it. Battery quick disconnects are a wonderful item and not just for winter storage.

Look at the bright side one of her friends could have been in front of the car.

OUCH.....Keep your cool....she probably feels real bad.. ....and really stupid. If you pitch a huge fit, she won't feel as bad! They don't think until they get about 25 yrs old.

I feel for you, as I know how much pride we take in our Cars.

I guess you forgot to install that hidden kill switch...don't be to hard on the kid because it's just a car and no one was hurt.

Default gottta LIE!!!!! thru your teeth :)

well i would say that it was a failed atempt of a robber to steal the car...... but i sed when i bought my vett that when the girls (yes we have twins) get old enuff i would give them the keys, and/or get another one so that they bothe can have one. i wated 20 years..., tryed by hook and by crook to get one before then, but there is nuthing like driving the vett. and i want my girls to drive it.
now on the side of reason. thank god no one was hurt. and all the parts and walls and tool boxs, frige. everything is replaceable. even the vette.

A couple of days ago there was a video of a 16 year old girl sitting in a white vette starting it up. The owner was commenting on how big her grin was. Is this the same vette and the same girl, or just coincidental.

Sorry to hear about that. Not just the car, but the house too!

Sorry for your loss, but

this is a good time to put your arms around her and give her a big hug. Tell her she made a big mistake, but all that matters is she is O.K. and that you love her.

Awww man.....double bummer!!

Don't know what to say......

I'm not as easy...she already knows how bad she messed up...but I would REALLY make sure she knew about it. No doubt driving priveliges are dead for a while? That was dangerous. irresponsible etc etc....AND she messed up your Vette!

All that said...you gotta bring it to the Cruise In!! I'll buy all the Jack Daniels you can drink!! We can get one of those big bandaids to put on it.......or we have some of that FAA approved Duct tape we can use!

Just take a few deep breaths...don't talk to anyone for a few days until you calm down.

Man I hate to hear this!!

Ouch, that hurts brother. Trust me I feel responsible too. That car is like leaving an AK47 laying around and except no one to play with it.

I did that once...with a 1939 American LaFrance fire truck.
