Body in the trunk?...Naw, I doubt it. I'm sure someone would have smelled the body over the years. In the Texas heat that we see, it wouldn't take long for a body to get ripe.

I've owned my 68 since 1972. It was stored for 3 years (1976 to 1979) and 6 years (1986 to 1991). During these years, I was living overseas. Cars stored for years at a time in relatively expensive storage areas are not abandoned.

Just think how many cars like this are sitting waiting to be rescued? In my area I know where there are several cars like this.
There is a 57 Corvette sitting in a yard near me for years. The owner has owned it since 1960 and took it off the road about 20 years ago and it is sitting outside with a piece of rubber roof material wrapped around it held on with bungee cords. The car isn't for sale at any price.

Heard the story about Peter Max and the One-Vette-Of-Every-Year that he has from '53-'89 rotting away for the last 20 years? Not show cars but still, Corvette history. I was shocked and appalled when I read about it at first but eventually it became apparent that all you can do is wait for the neglecters to grow old and check out and hope it ends up with a restorer.
