Default Anti-theft devices

I'm wanting to put some sort of anti-theft device on my car. I remember 6 months ago there was a thread talking about this very subject, however, I wasn't able to locate it. I remember talk about putting a kill switch on the fuel pump. This way the thief might get your car but after 100 yards of driving it dies on them out in the open. When he can't figure out how to get it started and he's not inconspicuous any longer, he'll most likely high-tail it. I was looking at my fuel pump. Where's the wires? Is it even electrical? If not, how do you put an anti-theft device on it?

What year Corvette do you have? 81 on up probably has electric fuel pump anything 80 and older does not.

You will have a mechanical fuel pump not an electric one. I had a kill switch installed at the local Stereo shop they charged me $25 does the trick.

Let's assume I'm a thief... and I've already broken your window to gain access to the inside of your car (as is typical) [5 seconds]. I open your hood, and cut all wires leading to the positive post on your coil [7 seconds]. Then I run a alligator clip jumper wire (which all thieves have) from your coil to the battery terminal on the alternator (which runs directly to the positive terminal of the battery) [5 seconds]. Next, I reach down with a small screw driver and short the starter terminals which turns the engine over [10 seconds]. Will I have you car [27 seconds total] ?

That's why early C3 owners should use electric fuel pumps that have a non-obvious turn-on switch for the owner to activate at engine start up.k

"Ahaa...You didn't turn on my electric fuel pump that I added to my early C3. You didn't know to open up the little storage compartment door and switch on the fuel pump. As soon as the carb burns out all of the gas in the fuel bowls, the car will come to a dead halt."

Electric fuel pump...little storage compartment...switch.......got it.
Now, where's this car?

the boot for the clutch or brake pedal.

A kill switch and the Club is about the best you can do.

I have a locking shift **** (automatic). Uses one of those cylindrical keys. Locks the shifter in "P".

Also have a hidden "delay" kill switch. Car will start, but shuts down in 60 seconds if the hidden button isn't pressed. To start normally, press the button and start.

Kill switch, steering wheel club, locked garage with alarm system, 2 shepards & last defence 30:30 winchester for that 100 yards we talked about. My shepards can run the property in 16 seconds, I hope they (thieves) can do it in 15..

Nothing will stop a tow truck from backing up, lifting the front wheels, break a window and put it in neutral...gone in less than 30 seconds...so much for the club, the electric fuel pump, the kill switch, the siren, the motion detector, the anti-theft battery, and what else.

Get a reputation, bad sunglasses, and a sawed off, lever-action, model 1887 winchester shotgun and you shouldnt have any problems.
