corvette summer...a classic
Call me crazy, but Corvette summer is a highly under appreciated film.
Seriously, the heavily modded '73 is asthetically questionable, especially in 70's gold, but no other movie I've seen captures "vette fever" quite like this one. E.g. Mark Hamil's immortal description of America's sports car as a "man's car," or his huge disappointment seeing a datsun 280z instead of a stingray!!!

My memory of this movie was that it was the first movie I ever saw on "cable" TV at a neighbor's house. Wow.. cable... HBO.. man that's cool. So I do have certain feelings of sentiment for the movie.
God I'm old.

I have watched it a few times and still enjoy it. Next up you got to watch Death Race 2000 and see the corvette in it.

I remember seeing that when it came out back in '78?
I think "Stingray" is a better vette movie-dumb but has a nice 64 vert in it. I don't know if you'll find it anyplace now though. I bought a VHS tape when a local store was closing.

Bought the original "gone in 60 seconds" a while ago remembering it as a classic. Boy did it suck the second time around
Haven't seen Corvette summer for a few years although I saw the Corvette Summer car at Mid America in 2000. Mike said the car handled like a dog. Our conversions are heaps better. Mine has seen 130MPH on a track and that was only because I have Yoky 352's on it ( sticky but low speed rating. Hell, our max legal speed is 110 KMH {68mph})

I taped the movie last night on Turner's Classic Movies channel. I thought the car was a monstrosity but the movie was kind of entertaining.

The movie car is at "My Garage" at Mid America. A nice little free museum in Effingham, IL. He has a lot of one off unique Corvette there. The movie Vette is under a Marquee with the movie name on it.

One thing I like about the car is the chevy bowtie in the rear. If you're going to replace the classic round taillights, at least make it look cool.
Oh yeah...and Why the heck did they do a right-hand drive conversion????

If I remember correctly (it has been awhile since I saw it), the guys in shop (in the movie) made it right hand drive so they could "talk to chicks while crusin'".
