Fill in alarm key hole on fender or not?
I,m doing the body work now and am thinking of filling in the alarm key hole. There was nothing there except the switch, not even any wires. I dont know if I should put it back for looks or fill it in. The car is a 75, but far from original. Any thoughts? Jesse D

fill it in.
its amazing how much better the front end looks without all the cheezy crap like the front emblem and stingray badges. The alarm key is the next thing i'm gonna glass over.
BTW there ain't gonna be no next owner of my car. its going to the bone yard with me.

The original alarm isn't going to stop a pro. If you want a real alarm you'll need a modern aftermarket one. Fill the hole in and get rid of all other the badges.

I vote for getting rid of it. That's what I'm doing to mine, although I will be putting the crossed flags back on, I like the way they look. Mine is missing the wiring as well and there no way I'll ever wire it up and use that primitive system anyway. If and when I ever put an alarm back in the car it will be one that will actually stand a chance of deterring a potential thief. If they really want it their going to get it anyway, and no alarm will stop them, so fill it in and make your car look better!

IMHO leave it alone to allow the next owner the option to re-activate it. I left the alarm on my old 77 and I liked it there. Several conversations began over that stupid key lock.

I'm not building my car for the next owner. I'm building it for me...

I still use mine. It actually is not connected to alarm at all. I bought a new switch for $30 CDN and without activating it my fuel pumps will not turn on. When I park the car I always turn this alarm switch OFF. It cuts the power to the switches that energize the fuel pump relays.
No turn alarm on, no fuel. Motor starts, runs about 100 yards and then the car runs out of fuel and leaves the thief stranded on the road.
