Original transmission, any value?

Original transmission, any value?
Is there any value (besides as a core) such as matching numbers or anything similar for keeping the original TH350 transmission from a 1979?
Planning on upgrading to 4-speed.

If it is the original trans then it will have the VIN derivitive stamped on it somewhere.
It matches your car and nothing else.
It will fit behind almost any Chev V8 though. I say keep it, If you sell it you will never get it back and as a core it is not worth that much.
Obviously, if it is still in good condition it is worth more but it is yours and you have to make the decision.

That way you can always have a numbers matching car, which in the future will be worth more than a non-matching (in general).
