WTB: 1963 Split Window!
Looking for a decent 63 split window within 500 miles of Knoxville, TN. Would like a 300hp w/4-speed. Other options not important. Any colors OK. Prefer good body and original engine or at least matching number. Condition any, if price is consistent with. Let me know what you have. Thanks.

I know where one is right now but don't know if it's really for sale. It's a numbers car that he says once he flights it, it will be sold. He's gonna want like 45k for it though. Or at least that's what he said. Dave..

Not looking for a show car. Been there, done that. I'm ready to ride, but I want it to look nice. Keep me posted just in case, he decides to sell at market value.

BTW what would be the value on the above?? Its a really nice numbers restored car. I don't know how it will do NCRS but this guy used to do this for a living. So I have to expect from what I know it's done correctly. I was thinking at least 40 though. Dave..

Probably about the right asking price, if it would top flight. I would take a look, but I'm not really looking for this car. I prefer one that I can tinker with.

Re: WTB: 1963 Split Window! (Lickitty)
I bought my 62 in Las Vegas and drove it home over 2K miles. I drive all my cars, a lot. What I meant was it's too far to travel to look at something. In the 37 years I've been playing Corvette I've been on many wild goose chases. I'm trying not to go on many more, just those that seem like sure things. Wish you had been trying to sell while we were all in Music City. You may have gotten a plane ride home. Whatever you do with your cars, Have Fun!

Sorry for the Snide Remark and ......
Glad to hear you like to drive em !!!!
I was very disappointed at Nashville to see so few C1 and C2 corvettes. Everyone was driving new C5's and all the C1 and 2's were home parked in garages. One fellow asked where I came from amd when I told him Canada, he was astonished and then he asked me if I trailored it !!!! I told him I would never ever consider a trailor . We bought it to drive it and enjoy it
Suggestion : When we bought our Vette from Phoenix , I had the gent take a VCR Tape of the car . He drove it , went over every inch of it and then I asked if he could especially key in on any areas that I might be dissapointed in as we were coming from a long ways away and wanted NO SURPRISES when we got there . When he sent back a 15 Minute tape , I had a VERY good Idea of what I was getting
Hey , have a Great day and good luck in your buying . Any 63 SWC is a Great Driving Machine and a Lot of Fun to drive

No
The gentlenan had a Landscape business in Phoenix
He had bought it three years previous from a Doctor
I seen it on the internet on http://www.colllectorcartraderonline.com
Pictures were terrible but he E-mailed me more and then sent a VCR Tape and it was MUCH better than the web picture

Re: WTB: 1963 Split Window! (Lickitty)
I think my 57 sold today, so I can get serious about this SWC business. I would prefer a 300hp with 4-speed. Most any color will do as long as its an original 63 color. :D

Hey Wayne....good luck in your search.....find us a good one! I dont think we have a '63 SWC in the club right now. Recall we had a decent red driver at our last Reeders Show that the owner was quite fond of.

Re: WTB: 1963 Split Window! (gilbybarr)
Looked at one just in from Arizona yesterday. Any body looking for a real project, this is it. Has original motor, 340 hp, but also has rear fender flairs and filled exhaust panel. Needs total restoration. Wants $22,500! :cry

Re: WTB: 1963 Split Window! (vettes1st)
I thought I would through in my 2 cents worth. I bought a 63 Coupe about 7 years ago. Matching Number car but was a basket case. I paid $16K for it. After 3 years of restoration, I found that I was upside down on what the car would sell for. I have now plans to sell it so someday it will be worth what I have in it. My point is don't get into one thinking that you can do the restoration and come out cheaper. I enjoyed doing the work, but I'm not sure I would do it again. As LittySplitt says"Any day driving the 63 is a great day!!!" Good luck on your quest.

Re: WTB: 1963 Split Window! (Jmeadows)
You fellas see the red 300 horse auto split at Barrett J? Sold for $32/4 (granted you have to add fees on top of that) but thought it was awful low for the apparent quality of the car (of course they dont give you details about engine #s e.t.c.) as it looked like a real nice car. Curious on everyone's thoughts.
Thanks,
Jordan

That was a PRO Team Corvette....often they send to the show several cars that are slow sellers or even have problems....buyer beware.
