1966 Restored Coupe for Sale
This is a beautiful- looking and sweet- running car with 85,600 ORIGINAL MILES on it, 600 of them since the restoration was completed. It is a 327/300 with factory AC, PS, tinted windows and Am-FM radio. All numbers, including alternator, regulator, et al, match.
This is virtually a TWO-OWNER car: A friend of mine bought it in 1967 and owned it until 2009 when I bought it from him. At that point a 3-year BODY-OFF restoration was begun.
The car was mostly original when I got it and it has been restored to as-original except for the leather seat covers that were added by the previous owner (thecovers should be vinyl). Every single part, including nuts, bolts, clips, was removed, cleaned and rebuilt, or replaced with original parts or new, correct reproduction parts. The head-markings on all the bolts are correct, as are all fasteners and screws. The paint was chemically removed and then the original gel-coat was soda blasted off. The underside of the body was cleaned with solvents and Scotch Brite Pads. After the body was made blemish-free, it was gel-coated, primed and painted its original Milano Maroon color. (One of the factory details maintained in this restoration is that the door jambs and the engine compartment lip were painted flat to emulate the original, non-shiny, factory- look.) The original bumpers were re-chromed and the original steel wheels have been powder-coated. Sound deadener has been applied to the inside of the car.
I have DOCUMENTATION going back to November of 1967, an original protecto-plate and service booklet (but not the ones for this car), the original owner’s manual, and all receipts of the restoration. I also have 1,272 photos which document all phases of the restoration. They all go with the Corvette.
Price:$68,000.00
