that's really a shame...it needs to be saved...it's a silver 67 with the
L-79 motor....Needs a frame (way over my head) but someone on here needs to save it. If it's the original motor in it, it's definitely worth putting the money into it.....

Seller could not confirm original engine but thought it was.

But the only real issue that bothered me was the rust

its tough buying a car in California when you live in New York.
If anyone needs a car inspected in ca let me know,C2 and C3 only.

Ara,
You should buy it. You know you like silver and black. You're right it is worth putting the money into it. If it was a coupe with a/c it would be the perfect companion for my silver and black convertible. Out of all of the frames I have, I don't have a midyear laying around. If I did I would be in big trouble with the boss. You know who she is.

Mike,
If I bought it I would be in trouble with my big boss....but your big boss can't hit me from 1100 miles away so I think you need to pick it up. In all honesty, I think it's worth putting money into - and yes I currently own 2 silver/black midyears so I do love that color combo. Car needs to be purchased between 26-29K to be worthwhile. More than that, you're losing money. Car needs paint too. Whole interior redo, new frame/suspension, etc....big job but some guys on this board have resurrected much much much worse cars than this one....and this one is a 67 silver pearl with black gut and the 350hp motor...nice nice nice.....ARA

to help someone on the CF to make a decision, here is the pad. Stone cold righteous. The first 7 in vin is unclear in the image but is there. Rust hides extremely faint broach marks.

If the frame is that bad, what do you think the body sills & the windshield frame is like. If the body sills & w/s frame are bad, your in for some long nights & an empty wallet, & that's the best scenario.

65hihp have you seen this car? If so can we get some more pix of frame, front and rear suspension? That would give all an idea what's up with this car.

Sorry, don't have. Just topside photos. No opportunity to lift car. Besides, I assume the car is sold by now. Gorgeous nose, rear and corners, mostly original paint; tattered old original interior. Beautiful jack board with two speakers punched right through original stickers. Righteous motor. Probably correct M21 (couldn't quite make out the vin stamp from underneath the damned added pipes). Rear body rocker ears are still present behind pipe tips as are rocker hangers; front body rocker ears sawed off. Back ends of both frame side rails are swiss cheese. Rear half of frame and underside of birdcage sills and gas tank bottom all painted red oxide over rough surface. Birdcage above glovebox looked excellent, nice and green. Trim and vin tags nice. Upper and lower ball joints are original and coated in grease and grime. Front springs still have tags; rear spring replaced. All shocks are replaced. Appears original soft top; no hardtop holes in deck.

Default Tank sticker?

Any evidence of a tank sticker? Sounds like a good restoration project. If the paint is original and the body is unhit(rare with these cars).
with the above. Good project for 30K.

Is there any difference between a coupe chassis and a roadster chassis?

Gents;

Anyone have a diagram of what the sill look like? Are these reproduced or repairable?

Good inspection description.

I'm guessing that the car remains unsold, then?

For $35K and given this is a 1967 Convertible with original engine and trans, I would not be afraid of the frame provided the birdcage was good.
