New to the forum and needing help!

I have been negotiating with a gentleman in Cornelius NC on a 63 convertible. He currently has it listed on ebay with a pretty good "buy it now" price, but I have a REAL hard time spending that much money on a car sight-unseen. The auction closes tomorrow and I am over 1000 miles away (central Texas). Anyone in the area that might be able to take a look for me?

I don't live to far from there. I might be able to help. I am a 64 guy and very versed on the 63's as well.

Hi, if you do purchase it, make sure you specify that the sale is contingent on your inspection within ____ days of the sale, and that you get your deposit back if the car is not as it was described. I have done this a couple times and the sellers have been more than agreeable to these terms. Good luck!

Just an observation....

I just want to say how cool it is to have these great members on our forum step up and help a fellow Corvette enthusiast out

ABSOLUTELY! I cannot convey my sincere appreciation enough. I am thoroughly amazed and would like to send a great big thanks out to all that helped. While its not a completely done-deal, I have wired a deposit on the car. I'll be flying out to take a look, close the deal and arrange shipping next week. Very very excited! and yes, this is my first Corvette!

Pretty much exactly as the seller described. Decent driver with a few things that I can tinker with while enjoying the car. Overall, the biggest thing to do will be a good paint job, but I figure I can drive it a while and maybe next winter take it down to glass and re-spray. I'll snap a few pics when I'm out that way next week and get them posted. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for all the help 65GGVert and HeavyJetPilot in particular. We finished the deal today and the car is scheduled for pickup tonight! Should be in Texas on the 22nd or 23rd.

Click on his name, then select "View Public Profile" from the drop-down options. The link to his album will be on the righ-hand side of that screen.

Nice little car. With power brakes, and power windows no less. Sits a little high in the rear, but thats easy to fix. The hunt can be the most fun. Good Luck
