Hi everybody, this is my first try in your...our forum, so please bare with me if I don't do this right. I have a '58 I'm "restoring" & am in need of more than a couple of parts but I'd like to start with these.
First, I sent my all of my chrome parts out to be re-plated, among them were the tail lamp housings. those pieces came back missing the 4 brackets to mount the outer lens. Any ideas where to get these? I thought I saw them in an old parts catalog, but can't find them now.
Second, my car appears to have been originally a low HP FI model (low RPM tach & emblem holes in the fenders etc). I found a "correct" engine and FI unit. When I opened the box the distributor was in, turned out it is a 914 model (dual point, dual "tach" drive, no vacuum advance etc) but everything I've read & heard says it should be the 915 model (single point, vacuum advance, single drive for FI pump). I'm looking for a swap. This unit has been rebuilt & is in excellent condition.
Does anyone have any ideas to get me over these humps?
