Nothing special that year. No split window, disc brakes, big block, or side pipes.
I will still take mine and drive it everyday despite all of it "shortcomings".

They may be a bit cheaper but they are still highly desireable. My 64 has all the features I desire. Sleek body lines, firm rounded rear end and perky front end. What else is there...

IMHO: If the 63 had not been the first C2 body style and there wasn't a SWC they would be like the 64's and considered by some to be less desireable.

I have a 64, 65 and 66....I like the 64 most, well cause its a roadster, its totally drivable, and modified. I dont know why the 63's are so sought after.....everyone hated the split...thats why they got rid of it. People actually cut the split out to be like 64's when they came out. 64's dont have discs....but mine has em in the front now, and someday it might be worthy of a bear brake set up.....it already has 335/17s on the rear.

The65 and 6 are original bb cars......and for fun the 64 blows them away.

Just finished the Hot Rod Power Tour in my 64. Drove approx 2400 mile including getting to Little Rock for the start and home from Madison after. It had not been out of the garage for 3 years until the Monday before we left on Friday. Been spending too much time either working or on 2 wheels. Didn't get my 66 el Camino done in time for the Tour so the 64 was Plan B.
Most people don't know a 64 from a 67 and the price difference is small. I agree that most 64's are driven as they all should be. They're not furniture, they're toys.

When I went looking for midyears, I only wanted a convertible and I highly preferred the interior on the '63-'64 as they have the really cool deep dished gauges and the nicer door panels (imho - not a big fan of the '65 and later plastic door panels)..

As some said though, if you want a big block you have to look '65 and up and '63 was a unique year as the first year for sting ray's and split window in the couple, so it just left '64 the odd year out ..

I'm still a big fan of '63-'64 and found it very convenient that my '64 cost me less because the market under appreciates them.. life is good!
