Hey, I know this car!
I helped a friend of mine (David Dew) with the stainless and chrome. I think he did the soft top too. David is a top notch person with C-1 corvettes and knows them inside and out. He has been an NCRS judge for many many years. He says the same thing about this car. This is a perfect car for someone that wants a quality and dependable driver. I've seen this car up close and all around and it is a very sharp car! If any of you fourm members know of someone wanting a C-1 Tell them about this one and they wont be disappointed. Lets help Scott out and get this car sold for him.
zadspal,
Wow, some people have a keen eye. Yes David Dew has done work on the car. He knows C1's inside and out, and has been a huge help to me in understanding some of the finer points of C1's. I am not a C1 expert, even though I have had Corvette's for almost 20 years. I try to get them in good shape over a few years, and really enjoy driving them around with my kids.
So, the 6500 tach was put in when gauges were restored. I just like the looks! I am not sure of the original engine. I am sure that it was a manual transmission car originally due to the hole in the floorboard and clutch bracket. No, I don't have any of the ignition shielding. To go even further for you keen eye C1 experts....the alternator is on the wrong side.
Engine does have some extra "cam" in it. A really nice sound.
Thanks again for the added perspective on the car from those who are familiar with it. All these fans of the car that I didn't even know! I think whoever buys it will be happy.
Company is moving me, so if you are interested in buying this car in sunny LA, I will deliver to LA in June! (I get to bring two cars with me). Thought that this might interest some west coast forum members.
On the generator, it is a NOM, but I don't know why it is on the wrong side. I purchased it that way. Someone familiar with C1's thought it might be a 62 engine. Does that make sense?
The 60 is sold, and it is with a bit of regret, we will miss that car! A very excited couple just bought their first Corvette after wanting one for many years.
So once the move to California is complete, I will be in the market for a 69 Convertible.
Thanks to all of the forum members for their support.
