That's pretty steep for a coupe with just a small block. Good luck though...

Well, I've seen big blocks for sale in the low 40s. Just my .02.

Re: '67 Rare Coupe for sale (PhilG)
Sorry, but the car sold last week. Guy walked in and said "I'm here to buy your car". Did not even take a good look at it. Power of word of mouth. Amazing.

Very fair price....right on the money as far as I have seen around here (NYC area). Although the market for most cars is soft, I have found that most of the people buying these cars are financially stable..aka no dot com overnight millionaires and thus the recent economic downturn has certainly depressed prices a bit, but not as much as say the 911 market......and they are not making any more original 67s are they..small block or not!

I have not seen any midyear "panicky" sellers either since the slow down, however the market is flooded with the C5's. Prices are coming down quick. I quess anyone can finance a C5.

Re: '67 Rare Coupe for sale (Jeff Garner)
Wonder if it might occur to anyone that there are at least a few of us who prefer a small block to a big block? I, for one, would not trade my 67 SB for a similar 67 BB without considerable money passing in my direction. I have owned more than a dozen (ok, a lot more than a dozen) Vettes over the past 25 years and all but one have been small blocks. There will probably be more in comming years, and there is a real good probability they will all be small blocks. :D

Re: '67 Rare Coupe for sale (Doughan)
I think many dont understand the value and true rarity of a real "original" car. One reason is the term "original" is grossly overused. There are tons of restored cars around that look brand new. They are very impressive to look at, but they can be cranked out on demand. The genuine original car (as described above) (cliche alert! ==>>) is not being made anymore. So if that is what you want, and that is what you are looking for, when you find one you do like that buyer did - you walk in and say, "I'm here to buy the corvette". MJ

Congrats........
Most don't realize how few original cars are left.
Paint, drivetrain ect. And compare the price of originals
to Bubba's resto ride.
Hope you don't have any regrets........
Its hard to buy a new mini van for 35k.
Food for thought.

I've seen ads in the back of car magazines for classic vettes asking much more. Of course, these were stored autos. My point is that it's hard to say exactly what an older car is worth. It becomes a subjective point since the original MSRP no longer applies.
I've never owned a "classic", so my opinion is just that-an opinion. :D

Re: '67 Rare Coupe for sale (396 RAT)
Very true, 396 RAT. Anyone with a big check book can purchase and restore any car to look like new. However, a car is 'original' only once. And while a restored vette may look great- it's not the same as the one the general made. The true value of anything is how much someone will pay for something, whether the rest of us agree with that or not.
