Have you guys went and bought something that wasn't exactly what you really wanted and then later regretted and had buyers remorse?
What I really want is a '67 roadster. I can get into a '66 coupe for a much better price. Is it better to change my taste a little and be happy tha I have a C2 in the garage or hold out, even if it takes another year or two to find exactly what I want and do it right the first time.

Hold out for a conv. I bought and restored 2 big block a/c coupes. Drove one of them twice and sold it, drove the other one for a year and sold it because I really wanted a conv. It is worth the wait.
I have owned both and probably like the vert better. The coupe sounds better, because of being all inside. You just started looking, give it some time or you will be selling the coupe by next year.
Get what you want. If you plan on keeping the car for a while the added cost of the vert will be long forgotten whereas the reminder of not getting what you really wanted will be with you forever.
I live in Colorado where we get 300 days of sunshine a year. We have had tremendous weather lately and I keep sticking my arm out the window wishing I had a '67 vert with the oldies playin'
My wife says it isn't very practical but I am not trying to be practical. I want to have a little fun.
I've had both and prefer the convertible in a mid-year. It's just more fun to drive with the roof off in the warm weather months. The coupe rear window has a greenhouse effect that really heats up the car.
I think the coupe looks a little better. But if I had to have just one it would be a convertible with two tops. Best of both worlds.
You know what Nick Nolte says in the movie 48 Hours...
"I'm a rag top man"
Roadster all the way

Go for the Coupe. They look better. Take the money saved and buy a C4 ragtop. Then you can save the 66 for special trips... and drive the ragtop for that open car feeeling.
