I need a ballpark price on a '6o vette. My fathers car. body in good shape, no hard top. some new chrome. I said 20k he said zero. We compromised at 10k. Is this crazy for him? for me?

Check Ebay. There are always project cars there. I would think 20,000 is probably close.
My advice is to take some photographs and share them to get a better idea. You might want someone from a local chapter corvette club to come by and take a look at the car. They usually can tell you what the car is worth.
Thanks for input everyone. Spoke with Billy Dawson, who will be doing my conversion, and he thinks would be about 20-25k. I will get pics on this week and then update as the project comes along!

I thought you were helping your dad to sell the car. I think you should have to do some weekend chores for your dad. You know... Paint the house, mow the grass and cut down the weeds. I would be wary on the price for the restoration. I personally know the costs are always more than what was first figured. I am looking at 60K+ by the time I am done with a complete restoration. I orginally thought it would be about 30 to 40K. The little parts adds up quickly.
If I read it correct, he is doing a conversion, and he may offset some of the cost by selling the used parts from the 60. I know the conversions are really cool but I hate to see a car cut up.
