I just saw this posted and thought I'd pass it on. I've never seen the car and have nothing to do with the seller.
Yes, it's a project complete with flared fenders. But the seller claims the numbers match, and it looks like it's pretty complete. Seems like a reasonable deal at $22K and the seller is accepting offers.
Me too. I might be able to buy the car but I can't afford to restore it. However, I know what project cars are going for these days and how difficult it is to find a decent one. I figured someone will jump on it if it's as advertised so I posted it here.
I sent an email to the seller requesting more photos and asked about rust. She said she would take more shots and that the rust comes with the car at no charge. Good sense of humor.
I've already got more than half the parts it would take to get her back to nearly stock.
I'd love to have a SWC to go next to my convertible.
Hmmm... would wifey kill me if I took a home equity loan?? (naw... she doesn't HAVE to know)
Remember, it's easier to ask for forgiveness afterward than for permission beforehand!

If it's been in San Diego for a long time rust shouldn't be a problem. The SWC I had a while back originally came from San Diego and there was no rust whatsoever. I later sold the original master cylinder to an NCRS guy who told me it was the most perfect casting he had ever seen... no pitting or corrosion at all.
I think you should check again. The link you provided http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/335973622.html says flagged. Anyhow I noticed this right when it was posted at 8:53 this morning. At 11am another ad was placed where the subject line said "1963 corvette free tow it today" and then the body of the ad was changed to include the phrase "bring a free case of beer and tow this car today".

Not sure what's causing the confusion, but when I click on the link it's not flagged, and there's never been anything about beer or towing.
A post is flagged when buyers think it is a scam or something is not right. Also buyers are known to flag a post when the item is a good deal to eliminate competition. In this case we will have to wait and see which one it is. I think the reason it came up for some people and not others is because sometimes if you don't hit refresh you may be looking at an outdated webpage.
