Default For Sale- 1965 396 Nassau Blue Coupe

I am not going to go into a long winded description of the car. Serious inquiries may PM me with a phone number or email.

This is a no excuse, no example of the first big block corvette built. It is one of 2157 cars and approx. 740 coupes. This car is documented in Noland Adams Vol#2 as one of the 396 survey cars. I have copies of titles and registrations back to the original owner. The car has a bright blue vinyl interior and is optioned with a 3.70 posi rear,am-fm,teak wheel and telescopic column. It has 86000 plus original miles and has the ORIGINAL motor and matching numbers drivetrain.Although not current today the car was awarded a Top Flight award in the mid 80's. In 2005 a body on mainly cosmetic restoration was done including paint, seat covers and carpets as well as rechrome.Seat belts are original. A complete set of five 1965 KH knockoffs, mounted with Bias Goldlines are available for additional cost. Wheels will not be sold separately. The car currently has steel wheels with hubcaps, mounted with Diamondvack Firestone Supreme Godline radials. I will provide any information I have to those with a serious interest.

Price 135K

Thanks for looking

For those of you that contacted me I will consider serious offers. This is not a project nor is it in any doubt its authenticity. The car speaks for itself and requires no further commentary other then honest answers to any questions you have. Thanks again for your replies.

As I said to all those that contacted me,there is room to negotiate on the price, but as said at another site I will not give out the reserve. Make an offer if you are seriously interested. Thanks again.

Thanks to one and all for the many private rsponses, but I believe some do not understand that this car is not jus another big block. It is rarer then any 66 427 or even a 67 435. It is the original "mystery" motor that Duntov designed in secret because corvette was not competative against the 427 Shelby Cobra. This car put Chevrolet back on top.

skyman51: Sounds like an exceptionally nice car. Great color combo. How about posting a quick pic.

Due to the realities of the current market conditions for corvettes I am making a substantial price reduction on this beautiful no excuse 65 396 coupe. I am selling because I am making room for another car and do not have the luxury of keeping everything because of space limitations. PM me with a phone number and email if interested. All five original Kelsey Hayes knockoffs are included in this price!

PRICE: 115K

Thanks for looking.

Guys I know some may think this is blasphemy, but I am looking to sell the 65 L78 outright or trade in a deal for 1970 Chevelle LS6 with complete documentation, preferably with an M22 and buckets but will consider all real cars. If anyone on the forum knows of such a car please let me know by PM. I would also be interested in buying one outright for the right deal. Thanks

Well I have come to my senses. Due to current conditions and realizing what a special car this 65 coupe is I am going to keep it and the 67 L36 convertible that sits next to it. I have looked at enough Chevelles to make me realize I'll stick with the corvettes. Good luck to all those that are selling their cars. Have a happy and safe 4th.

Good move. The 396s are rare and special.......and despite the LS6 engine.... a Chevelle is just.. well... a Chevelle.

I have described the car so i am not even going to state a price, but if you are interested in, as I said a no BS example of a real 65 396 coupe. PM or email me with your info and a serious offer. All will be considered.

I really have to vent a bit so please don;t get offended. I have listed this car on ebay, described it accurately to a fault and have gotten numerous calls on it. Additionally I have had it verified as original by a nationally known Bloomington Gold judge.. Even the off road exhaustr system is origiinal, and yet everyone wants to beat me up and they think this is just another 50-60k dollar car. Go find another that is truly the real thing and this original. Please don't waste my time or yo urs. If you truly want a real 396 with the ORIGINAL motor and needs nothing, please call.

I think the market is in a bit of a slump right now. I'd love to make a move on your car, but I have a 65' 350HP Coupe I'd have to sell first. Good luck, it may take you a while....
