My fault for missing out but miss out I did. I had three lined up but didn't commit until Friday. Meanwhile, the seller missed my email, as he was on his way to Carlisle. I didn't know it or I could have met him there, picked up the wheels and saved on shipping. I did find and buy one there thinking that would complete my needs. Now I need three more wheels to complete my set. Must be straight and true, with little or no pitting. I will buy one or three. Let me know what you have. Thanks!
Re: I need three steel 15x5 welded rims for my 1962 (Solid327)
The sets that I have are what everyone uses for the solid axle cars; 55 and 56 steel chevy wheels with "Nubs" to hold the full hub caps. I'm not sure what they are worth.
I only have 2 "Real" Corvette wheels left, if you know the difference. I managed to find a set of 5 for my 58 but have only been able to come up with 2 for my 61. Not sure I'd want to sell them but they are worth $100+ per wheel and then they would have to be shipped????
Where are you located?

This is what the NCRS Tech Info Manual & Judging Guide has to say: "Correct wheels have a hub containing a distinct double outer ridge and three nubs used for small hub cap attachment. Standard wheels are 15x5" and are welded."
If your wheels match the description in the NCRS guide, I would be interested. I don't know if there is a difference between passenger car wheels of the same era or not and the manual doesn't say. What is the difference between your "real" Corvette wheels and the others you have?
I do know there is a new functional replacement wheel available with the outer nubs but without the three inner nubs to hold the smaller dogdish style caps. They retail for $105.00 and I can get 15% off that price.
I had three correct wheels lined up for $80.00 ea., no pits and in primer which I missed out on, from one of our fellow forum members. I paid $90.00 for one wheel at Carlyle in perfect condition and primed. I wouldn't be willing to go more than $90.00 per wheel, based on what I have seen out there. I'm in MI so shipping is a factor too. Let me know if your interested in making a deal.
Re: I need three steel 15x5 welded rims for my 1962 (Solid327)
From what I've learned, the passenger car wheels do not have the "Double" outer ridge on the hub but have the 4 nubs on the outer lip to hold full caps on and also have the 3 inner nubs for small caps.
Passenger car wheels are hard to detect with the "Full" caps on and come both rivited as well as welded. They work perfect but are not the "N.C.R.S." real deal.
Let me think on whether I want to get rid of my last 2.
Thanks,
Jim
