Default Original Jack and lug wrench for 1967 date coded

Looking for a original date coded Jack for June 67 car. I may be wrong but I understand that 1967 was first year of date coded jacks?

I think that they were dated around January. Before that no date so yours would be dated.

Not all after January were dated. I did a small informal survey with members on the NCRS Tech board about a year ago and found original car owners with original jacks with no date as late as July of '67. Several others showed up prior to that but after January. They didn't just throw out those that didi not have dates. I have a mid-May car with an original non-dated jack.

yes, I believe you to be correct. I have talked with other 67’ corvette owners that had cars also as late as mine that did not have a date code. maybe I could just buy a new one and rough it up a bit? HaHa!

You won't be able to find a "new one". They quit making reproductions several years ago. I shared my information with you for the purpose of education and possibly giving you the option to find an original restored jack with or without a date. There are a few guys around that have collected and restored originals over the years and do sell them. Be prepared to pay $700-$800.

The original jack in my May 1967 one owner car is also undated.

Another example of understanding how parts bins worked back in the day. Thanks Rick for chiming in.

I should have said that in January they started to date the jacks at the factory but they would probably not be in the corvette till later & after that would be mixed with the old stock no date ones.
