Hi Larry, Great looking car! I just recently purchased a '65 396 (NOM) car also, white convert w/ red interior. The previous owner said it did have side pipes on it but he didn't get them when he purchased the car. On the wish list are factory looking side pipes. One question for you, the car has a 396 from a '67 Chevelle. Don't know if the exhaust mainfolds are for this engine or the original 396 (haven't gotten to the numbers yet) Are the exhaust manifold the same angle as at the output flange so that side pipes can be easily attached? I checked your pics but didn't see one at that junction.

Thanks for your comments on Project 396.
My car had a 1970 Chevelle 396 SS in it, too.
Luckily it had the 65 396 exhaust manifolds.
I don't know what Chevelle manifolds look like so can not answer that question.

The exhaust angle from a '67 Chevelle manifold is different then the '65 Corvette as well the '65 Corvette exhaust manifold has a provision for the tube that goes to the choke on a '65 carburetor and the others do not

I have this intake.
The center plenum is cut, but that does not show with carb installed.

The "301/302" exhaust manifolds are '65 Vette only.
I have a set of these and a couple of '65 396 engines if you decide to go period correct with your '65.

60FI,

I have been looking for a set of correct "301/302" exhaust manifolds for my '65 396 project. Do you still have the set available for sale, and if so, what do want for them?
