Default wasn't there a guy looking for a blower hood ?

I was always told if you didn't have anything nice to say to not say anything at all so I will let the pics/description/price and most of all the source say it all

Hi:
Not sure of the dynamics of this thread but are you looking for a hood to use with a blower car?

Fishon:
I have a cherry SB hood in my basement that I removed from my '65 when I went with a BB hood 25 years ago. It is uncut and perfect. Only had it a year or so on my car in fact the underside is unpainted so you can see it's not an E-Bay prime over the cracks deal.

The edges are not damaged like many are that are dragged to meets every week.

Here is what I need: A 1960 hood. A hood skin (new) would be acceptable. This would be a straight up swap.

I am not that far away from you in Western MA.

Send me your home email and I'll send you pictures tomorrow.

Actually you are quite close to me. Halfway is probably Greenfield.

Here's the deal, if you can get a new QUALITY 1960 hood skin at Carlisle I'll swap you. The problem I have is I got a poor quality skin and it was not fully cured. My car is black and I cannot get the thing to stop out gassing. I get bubbles in the paint. My painter said it was the skin after stripping and painting it twice.

Skins aren't cheap. Shermersheins (sp?) is big money and shipping is brutal.

I leave for Bowling Green Sunday for a week. Let me know if this strikes your fancy.

I think you will probably have to buy a stock hood and either you or have a body shop cut the hole for the blower, It is not hard, just time consuming. Here is a pic to wet your appetite.
making the rough cut
Done and painted

My suggestion is find a stock used hood, you will need to decide if you want a small block or big block, I prefer the 65-66 big block for a different look, before you purist's want to lynch me, it was not a original hood.

Big Block with BDS 8-71, Buddy of mine has a Monte SS with a 502 and a Dyers 8-71 with Holleys, I am running Edelbrock's and running lean on fuel on a long dyno pull, had to lower boost till carb change outs. If you want, I could trace a template for you of the hood cut out.

p.s. this is on a tube frame chassis, the motor is sitting back farther than stock would, but you could move the template forward, other issue may be carb linkage, holleys sit sideways and would probably need a little more clearance, but mine would get you in the ballpark.
