63 vette engine for sale
here are numbers on pad f0220re 340hp 327 date code in back is b-5-3
it is a short block I have heads but not correct date. The short block is std bore domed pistons gm with mechanical gm lifters still in bores has finned balancer and timing cover and oil pan. I removed from vette because date was to early. Thanks sean

why did my listing get relisted? I listed year ago refreshed?
I do still have few parts but I did not relist? I did not relist because I would have to check to see if I had response I received very few e mail alerts when people respond. If I did not check constantly questions would be overlooked?

I think the engine is a Flint engine, cast on Feb 5, 1963, and assembled on Feb 20, 1963. In 1963, RE code stood for 327 -340 HP with manual trans.

Sure that it is for a 1963?
I think that the dates and suffix would make it a 327 Flint assembled 365 hp(L76)with manual transmission for a 1964

Pretty sure.
Assembly stamp says F0220RE. "F" means "Flint", "02" means February, "20" means the 20th day, and RE is the code for '63 340 HP.
Casting says "B-5-3", which translates to Feb, 5, 1963.
Such an engine would have likely been installed in a late February, March or April, 63 built car. (Maybe even May)

My '63, built on May 29 came with an engine assembled on 0208. It's an RF and I think the engine sat in the back and was pulled late in production. It happens.
But this is a 4 1/2 year old thread so I'm sure that engine is sold by now.
If not, I should put it in my car and sell all my FI stuff.

Didn't notice the date on the original post. The engine probably pad was probably re-stamped to RF at least three years ago.
