Default Wanted: 4-Speed Console p/w '66

Does anyone have a console for my '66 4-speed with power windows to offer? Looking for an upgrade, doesn't have to be perfect, just better than mine. I'd like unmolested mounting screw holes, and very minimal pitting. Thanks in advance.

If yours isn't total krap you can have it plated and do the hole for the power window switch mounting yourself. I just did mine and it wasn't really that difficult.

Not sure why mine has the hole for power windows since it never had them, but I have (I think) what you are looking for.
How does yours look? Want to trade or something?

JKuzzy, mine has the PW hole, so wouldn't do you much good. If you are interested in selling outright, let me know. Or, maybe you need some other parts I could offer in a trade. Thanks

I would really like to just get rid of the hole altogether. I was hoping you had one without.

Tried it again. Let me know if it doesn't come through and I'll bore everyone here with how I did it. (LOL)

OK, Here Goes

My console was a standard 64 - 67 console without power window switch hole. I sent it out and had it rechromed BEFORE I decided to put the power window switch in (what a dumbass).

On the underside of the console are four raised circular pads near the power window switch mounting screw bosses. I drew an X between the raised pads and drilled a small hole.

Then I fabricated a metal piece the dimension of the part of the power window switch that fits up into the console when installed. I drilled the same size small hole in the middle of the fabricated piece and attached it to the underside of the console.

Then I scribed a line around the fabricated piece, removed the piece and got out the dremel with a cutting wheel. I cut inside the scribed lines for a rough fit and finished off with a file, dressing out the hole from above to avoid any chance of lifting the chrome plating from the upper side of the console.

When I finished I had a rectangular hole with square corners and the power window switch fits nicely into that hole when attached with the mounting screws.

Now I have to paint the console and install it into the car.
