Default Park brake upgrade.

Would it be possible to upgrade the earlier model under dash park brake to the later console version?
My reason for asking is that my 64 was not fitted with a park brake when purchased and as I have to have one in place for registration purposes, so I thought a centre console version might be a better option.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

It can be done, but major tunnel surgery is required to fit the floor-mounted park brake mechanism, pulley and bracket welded to the crossmember, and you'll need custom-made cables to the rear wheels. Lots easier to just add the correct the '64 parts, which are readily available.

As I suspected, but not beyond the realms of possibility. Thanks for replying.
